This past year changed my life in ways I never could have imagined. I watched my best friend die suddenly in front of me. Not long after, I walked away from a place I had devoted years of my life to because compassion was missing when I needed it most. Months later, my beautiful son Daniel passed away. During that time, some of the people I expected to stand beside me simply couldn’t.
